I would like peace and simple living. 33 years ago I suffered from many diseases like arthritis, uric acid and constipation, I tried allopathic medicine to cure my illness but it did not improve and my health got worse. After that, I tried natural methods to cure my illness. And I went to the “Arogya Mandir Natural Medicine School” in Gorakhpur, India.

And I started getting treatment. According to the rules of health treatment there, I was given Sometimes fasting, sometimes juice diet, and sometimes only fruits and cow’s milk as food. In addition to water, mud, and massage, I was also made to do yoga and meditation. Day by day my health started improving and within 3 months I was completely free from all diseases.

I was very impressed with the natural health workers and health institutions there and after thanking everyone I returned home and continued my teaching service . I became interested in learning yoga and natural healing styles and after some time, I completed theNaturopathy and Yoga (NDDY) course by combining my time part-time and studying repeatedly.
While researching the main reasons behind the deteriorating health of me and many other people in the community, it became clear to me that the junk food, fast food, and non-vegetarian food that is available everywhere in today’s era is having a serious negative impact on human health.
When I gained expertise in natural health and yoga, I continued to study and research further. I also received the International Yoga Teacher Certification from Patanjali Yoga Center. Today, I am known in the society as a yoga and natural health expert. I would like to give the credit for changing my life to Venerable Vitthal Das Modi. Vitthal Das Modi was the founder of Arogya Mandir Natural Hospital and School, Gorakhpur, India. In this context, I would like to allow you to tell a little about Vitthal Das Modi and Arogya Mandir.

Vitthaldas Modi (25 April 1912 – 23 March 2000) was a famous naturopath of India. He established Arogya Mandir in Gorakhpur and wrote many books on naturopathy in Hindi and English. He dedicated 60 years of his life to
naturopathy and yoga.Modi included Vipassana meditation practiced by Lord Buddha for purification of mind in naturopathy.
Vitthal Das Modi, hero of natural health
He was born on 25 April 1912 in Gorakhpur district. He studied up to matriculation from Gorakhpur and further education from Banaras Hindu University. He wanted to become a teacher. Once he fell seriously ill and did not get relief even after taking all kinds of medicines for a long time. So under the guidance of naturopathy expert Shri Baleshwar Prasad Singh, not only did he get cured of his disease but his health became even better than before. This is how his faith and devotion started in naturopathy.
Later in 1940, he established Arogya Mandir Naturopathy Hospital in Gorakhpur. He did a great job in the field of Indian Naturopathy by translating the book ‘Return to Nature’ written by Adolf Just into Hindi. He also edited the magazine ‘Jeevan-Sahitya’ which focused on the creative tendencies of Gandhiji.
He gained a lot of respect and prestige in India by using his knowledge and experience in the field of Naturopathy. He also traveled to many countries abroad to study this method. He also went to America and after seeing the Naturopathy centers there and gaining experience, he wrote a book called ‘Europe-visit.
He established an education center for the education of Naturopathy in Gorakhpur in 1962 by the name ‘School of Natural Therapeutics’. Through this, he taught Naturopathy to thousands of boys and girls.
Naturopathy is a creative method of treatment, which aims to eliminate the root cause of the disease by proper use of elements available in abundance in nature. It is not only a medical system but also a lifestyle in accordance with the internal vital forces or natural elements present in the human body.
It is a complete revolution in the art and science of living. In this naturopathy system, natural food, especially fresh fruits and raw and lightly cooked vegetables play a decisive role in the treatment of various diseases. Naturopathy is a boon especially for poor people and poor countries.
Basic principles of naturopathy
12 Basic Principles of Naturopathy
1. The cause and cure of all human diseases are the same. Except for accidental injuries and environmental conditions, the root cause and cure of all diseases are the same. Diseases arise when harmful substances accumulate in the body, and natural treatment is to remove them from the body.
2. The main cause of the disease is not bacteria. When harmful substances accumulate in the body due to a loss of vitality, bacteria are able to attack, as a favorable environment is created within the body for their survival and growth, which can cause disease. Therefore, bacteria are the second cause.
3. Since acute diseases are the body’s attempts to heal itself, they are not our enemies but our friends. Chronic diseases arise as a result of the wrong diet, the wrong treatment, and the suppression of acute diseases.
4. Nature itself is the greatest physician. Our body can protect itself from diseases and regain health when it is unwell, and this ability should always be maintained.
5. In naturopathy, the treatment is not of the disease but of the patient, and we ourselves can be the doctor.
6. Diagnosis of diseases is easily possible in naturopathy. There is no need to wait long for the diagnosis of diseases before any treatment, but we need to abide by the laws of nature.
7. Any. Patients suffering from chronic diseases can also be treated successfully and in a relatively short time in naturopathy.
8. Suppressed diseases also appear and are cured by naturopathy. Abstinence and following the laws of nature are mandatory.
9. Appropriate naturopathy treats all four aspects of the physical, mental, social (moral), and spiritual aspects simultaneously.
10. Instead of treating specific conditions, naturopathy treats the entire body simultaneously and teaches how to live a healthy life.
11. Medicines are not used in naturopathy. According to naturopathy, ‘food, rest, and exercise are the medicine’.
12. According to Mahatma Gandhi, ‘Ram Naam’ is the greatest natural medicine, i.e., praying according to one’s faith is an essential part of treatment. Spirituality is also a method of treatment.

CONCLUSION
पुनर्वित्तं पुनर्मित्रं पुनर्भार्या पुनर्मही।एतत्सर्वं पुनर्लभ्यं न शरीरं पुनः पुनः ॥
The ancient health advice verse says that wealth, wife, husband, friends, children, all can be regained, but your body is impermanent and unattainable. Therefore, eat non-violent food and exercise regularly to stay healthy.
Therefore, to always be healthy and happy, let us avoid consuming meat-based foods, stale, rotten, intoxicating, and contaminated foods. Let us consume fresh food, fruits, and clean water. Our body is composed of five elements, including air, water, soil, sky, and fire. So let us make good use of these five elements and exercise regularly, and surely our life will be happy and peaceful.
