This type of method helps in providing learning opportunities according to the level of knowledge of the individual, online exams, and real-time feedback. In the current era, it is difficult for us to work without the use of technology in every field. We have seen and experienced the leaps and bounds of technology in education, health, and transportation.

Need for technology-friendly education: The need of the day is technology-friendly education, as it makes learning fast, effective, and engaging. Technology expands access to education. This provides opportunities for students in remote areas to get quality education. It facilitates learning according to individual needs, life-useful education, and access to knowledge.

The use of technology-friendly education is increasing rapidly in the world. With the development of modern technology, the use of computers, the internet, digital content, and online platforms in the teaching and learning process has become widespread. Especially in developed countries, technology-friendly education is becoming popular fromthe school to university level.

E-learning, virtual classrooms, and online course materials are available to them. The use of technology is also being given priority in developing and underdeveloped countries, but the lack of access, infrastructure, and skills still poses challenges. Globally, technology-friendly education has created new possibilities by making teaching more effective and interactive.

Development of technology-friendly education in Nepal. The development of technology-friendly education in Nepal is believed to have started in the 2000s. In general, especially in 2001, the “Public Information Technology Policy” was implemented to make the educational sector of Nepal technology-rich.

After this, in the initial phase, from 2000 to 2010, the government took various initiatives to incorporate information and communication technology in school education and the teaching process. The use of computers and the internet increased in government schools. In the meantime, some changes were made in the next phase of incorporating the latest technology from 2010 to 2020. During this period, attention was paid to the development of online teaching, digital curricula, and e-learning platforms.

In the recent phase, when the impact of COVID-19 reached a global pandemic from 2020 to the present, there was a lot of emphasis on online education not only in Nepal but also around the world. This accelerated the use of technology to conduct virtual classes in schools and universities and digitize teaching materials.

Currently, technology-friendly education in Nepal is still in the process of development compared to other countries, and more infrastructure, training, and policies are needed to implement it effectively.

Some Challenges

Challenges of technology-friendly education in Nepal. Technology-friendly education can play an important role in improving the quality of education in Nepal, but to make it successful, the rapid development of technology has had a positive impact on the education sector; it has also brought some challenges.

The first challenge is the digital divide. There is a huge disparity in access to technology between students in urban and rural areas. Students in rural areas find it difficult to access technology, which adversely affects the quality of their education. Second, the lack of preparation and training of teachers is another major challenge.

Training for Teachers

Many teachers have not received training in the proper use of technology. Lack of competence reduces the effectiveness of technology use. Third, technology is constantly changing, and teaching materials and methods need to be updated regularly. The gap increases as students lose interest in old curricula and materials, and teachers are not familiar with new technologies.

Fourth, social and cultural perceptions can also be a major challenge. The mindset of parents and community leaders must change to include technology in education; traditional thinking will hinder technology-friendly education. This is ultimately related to the financial resources that parents and the state have to bear, and this is another challenge.

Problem solving

Solving the challenges of technology-friendly education:

Various measures should be adopted to solve the challenges of technology-friendly education. First, the government and the private sector should strengthen internet and technology access in schools in rural and deprived areas to ensure digital access. In addition, organizing regular programs for teacher training and development will make teachers skilled in the effective use of new technologies. It is important to form a team of experts to update the materials and curriculum, which will help make education contemporary.

It is necessary to conduct programs to make parents and the community aware of the benefits of technology education. Only then will their support and involvement increase. Investment from the government and the private sector is required to improve financial support and investment.

If collaboration is established between schools and communities, technology education can be made effective by utilizing local resources. The implementation of these measures can make a significant contribution to improving the quality of technology-friendly education.

Conclusion:

Ultimately, there is no happiness in Nepal without technology-friendly education. All kinds of development affect the educational system. If the country does not move in unison with it, it will lag. Technology-friendly education is essential to establish the country as a competitive and changing nation.

Ultimately, education plays a crucial role in development. Coordination and balance will be maintained between education and development, ensuring that all sections of society have access to quality education. Technology-friendly education is important not only for the promotion of education but also for the economic, social, and cultural transformation of the entire society.

All stakeholders must work together to ensure that technology-friendly education becomes a reality in Nepal, successfully preparing future generations for a brighter and more prosperous life
