The real meaning of yoga

What is yoga? The literal meaning of yoga comes from the Sanskrit language yuj, which means the union of the soul with God. That is, yoga has so much power that it can achieve immortality. Some people consider yoga simple, but it is a much greater human welfare science than that. Yoga is primarily a spiritual discipline, in which the complete essence of lifestyle has been assimilated. Yoga is both an art and a science. It is a science because it provides practical ways to control the body and mind.

Yoga makes deep meditation possible. And, it is an art, unless it is practiced naturally and sensitively. It gives only superficial results. Yoga is not just a system of belief, it brings about mutual harmony by keeping in mind the effect of body and mind on each other.

There are many types of yoga.    1. Raja Yoga, 2. Hatha Yoga, 3. Laya Yoga, 4. Gyana Yoga, 5. Karma Yoga and 6. Bhakti Yoga. In addition, many dimensions of yoga are discussed such as Bahiranga Yoga, Nada Yoga, Mantra Yoga, Tantra Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Sadhana Yoga, Kriya Yoga, Sahaja Yoga, Mudra Yoga, and Swara Yoga, but all these yogas are included in the above six types.
