According to the Hindu scriptures, Vedas and Puranas, Lord Shiva was unborn God who created along with Brahma and Vishnu. He was one of the creators before the creation of living beings and plants on earth.
Here it is written that Brahma is the creator of living beings and plants, Vishnu is the preserver, and Shiva is the destroyer. The scriptures clearly state that Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva are three forms of the one divine entity, the creator, sustainer, and destroyer of living beings.

Adi Yogi Lord Shiva (First Yogi on Earth)
Brahma created the sages. The first man created by Brahma was Swayambhu Manu and the woman was Satarupa. It is written in the scriptures that this couple multiplied many children through the sexual process and spread the human world. How did Shiva, who is the creator of such humans and the entire living world as a natural element, get the name Adiyogi? This context will be explained in the next paragraph.

About 15,000 years ago, the same Lord Shiva appeared in the Himalayan region in the form of a human. 88,000 sages also used to roam this land. Shiva showed an extremely bright, radiant and fascinating form. He also performed activities such as sometimes meditating, sometimes showing tandav dance and sometimes practicing yoga. Seeing this brilliance and activity of Lord Shiva, the other sages were amazed.
Only 7 sages( सप्तऋषि) approached Lord Shiva and requested him to teach them this art. Then he accepted the 7 sages as his students and taught them the science of yoga and the art of life in a special way. The sages also bowed down to Lord Shiva as their guru and called him Adi Yogi (the first yogi).
Philosopher or father of yoga?
About 5000 years ago, the great sage Patanjali wrote a book called Yoga Sutra, which included 196 sutras, including the 84 asanas received from Lord Shiva, in 4 chapters. The important 8 limbs of yoga are named Ashtanga Yoga and are written in the book called Yoga Sutra. He created a yoga philosophy to make yoga regular and systematic. Therefore, the great sage Patanjali is called the father of modern yoga. In fact, the creator of yoga is Lord Shiva, as well as the regulator and administrator of yoga, the great sage Patanjali.
Other contributions of Patanjali
Patanjali was not only the author of the Yoga Sutras but also the author and writer of Ayurveda and other miscellaneous books, which are one of the six philosophies of Hinduism Nyaya,
Vaisesika, Samkhya, Yoga, Mimamsa, Vedanta. The three main texts written by Patanjali in Indian literature are the Yoga Sutras, the commentary on the Ashtadhyayi, and the Ayurveda Granth. Some scholars believe that all three books were written by the same person; others believe that these texts were written by different people. Patanjali wrote his commentary on the Ashtadhyayi of Panini.

Patanjali was a great physician and he was the master of ‘Charaka Samhita’. Patanjali’s famous book is the Yoga Sutra. Patanjali was a distinguished acharya of alchemy – Avrak Vindas, many metallurgy and metallurgy are his gifts. Patanjali was probably during the reign of Pushyamitra Shunga (195-142 BCE). Ayurveda book Charak sanhita
योगेन चित्तस्य पदेन वचन मालन शरीरिरस्य च वैद्यकेनः
यह पक्रोत्तन प्रवरम् मुनिना पर जालिन प्रजिलरन्तोस्मिः
(In other words, Yoga for purifying the mind, grammar for purifying the language, and doctor +medicine for purifying the body(Charaka sanhita) for body purification .!
BC Patanjali, the author of the Mahabhashya, was a resident of Kashi-mandal in the 2nd century. He was the last sage in the tradition of the Munitrayas. After Panini, Patanjali is considered the most authoritative man. He composed the Mahabhashya of Panini’s grammar and gave it stability.
He was a man of supernatural talent. Apart from grammar, he had equal authority in other scriptures. His words are considered the final proof in grammar. He had sufficiently observed the life of the people of his time. Therefore, along with being a book of grammar, the Mahabhashya was also an encyclopedia of the society of that time. Patanjali is considered to be the incarnation of Shesh naga (शेष नाग).
Sukavi Ramchandra Dixit, a scholar of Dravidian country, has expressed some new facts about his character in his poetic work called ‘Patanjali Charita. According to him, Adi Shankaracharya’s grandfather, Guru Acharya Gaudpada, was a disciple of Patanjali, but this cannot be confirmed due to lack of facts.
The ancient Vidyaranya Swami, in his book ‘Shankar Digvijay, considered Guru Govinda Padacharya, the first Shankaracharya, to be a form of Patanjali. Thus, his association with Advaita Vedanta was established.

Is Shesha Naga the incarnation? In this form, Patanjali is the incarnation of Yogic being. He is depicted as a serpent, the upper part of his body is human, with four arms, and the lower part of his body is like the coils of a snake, which are wrapped two or three times and bear the imprints of reptile scales.
Following the path of Patanjali’s yoga philosophy and doing good deeds will make human life meaningful in the present era. I would like to appeal to all the noble souls who wish to live a happy life with full faith that if they can meditate and use the yoga sutras created by the great sage Patanjali, as well as the rules of Ashtanga Yoga, their lives will be happy and peaceful.
